Carlos Cadena
Carlos Cadena Valdivia, son, grandson, and great-grandson of coffee producers from both family lines, has dedicated his life to the production and marketing of coffee at Finca Pocitos and Finca Huehuetepan, the latter belonging to his mother. It was with this farm that he launched his highly specialized projects and began participating in the Cup of Excellence competition in 2012, achieving a distinguished sixth place. This recognition allowed him to discover the potential of his coffees and understand the changing needs of coffee roasters and markets nationwide, consolidating his position as a benchmark in quality coffee production.
In the following years, Carlos continued to participate in the Cup of Excellence without interruption, consistently placing among the finalists for the international auction. In 2015, he acquired a new award, where, leveraging his experience, he developed the farm according to his own models and needs. In this space, he introduced varieties such as Mundo Maya, Typica, and Sarchimor, and later, in 2017, he expanded his offering with Geisha and Pacamara crops, reaffirming his commitment to producing high-quality specialty coffees.
Currently, it has become a benchmark in the coffee industry, winning first place in the 2024 Cup of Excellence in the experimental process category, as well as fourth place in the honey and natural processes. These achievements reflect its dedication and innovative approach to producing high-quality coffees, positioning it among the best coffee producers in the country.
