Erick García

For seven years, Erick and his father Efraín have been responsible for restoring the land at La Finca Tepetzinta, located in the town of Talzintan, Totutla, Puebla. The farm has been producing coffee for over 30 years and is the result of three generations of work. The crops grown here produce high-quality microlots, including the Marsellesa, Gesha, Typica, and Garnica varieties.

Directo al Origen is a producer association founded by Erick, focused on boosting the production, innovation, and marketing of specialty coffees from his community. It began operations in January 2022 and is responsible for commercially linking the production of 43 small-scale producer families. They have also facilitated these producers' participation in various competitions, including seven of the 30 international finalists in the 2022 Cup of Excellence.

What they hope to achieve with this project is for coffee farming to be a dignified way of life for all their workers and to elevate Puebla's reputation in the specialty coffee industry.
